US State Department dispels concerns on planned Trump Kim meeting
The US State Department has sought to dispel concerns on the planned Trump-Kim summit, saying preparations are in full swing for the meeting in June. In a press briefing on Thursday, spokesperson Heather Nauert reiterated that the DPRK had previously indicated it understood the need and purpose for the US to hold military drills with South Korea. Nauert added that she had not heard anything official from the DPRK or the ROK to scrap the summit, after Pyongyang threatened to pull out.
